Donny T began his impersonation career with SK Productions based out of Toronto, Ontario early in 1996. At that time, Don also worked with the legendary Stars Tribute from Hamilton Ontario. In late 1996, Don attained the company SK Productions and changed the name to SunnySide Productions - The Hits Tribute Tours. As owner and performer, he has worked across Ontario and into the United States performing for many different charities and corporations.
In 1999, Don joined the roster of 'Legends in Concert' (Las Vegas, Nevada) appearing daily at their theatre in the Sheraton Centre in downtown Toronto. Don also appeared at 'Legends in Concert' Theatres across the border in Kentucky, Mississippi, and Branson, Missouri.
Donny had the opportunity to work for Toronto-based promoter Progressive Concerts 'Legends Alive' production taking him across Canada and the United States, including the Western Canada Tour. This production performed in 15 cities over 21 days. As well, Don's impersonation acts, Entertainer of the Decade Garth Brooks and Arista Recording Artist, Alan Jackson, showcased at the legendary Calgary Stampede.
Donny has performed as the opening act for the North American Tour of the 1970s 'Super Group' the Stampeders, as well as the CMA Award Nominees - Thomas Wade and Wayward to name a few. Don had the privilege of performing for Elvis' first cousin as part of the 65th birthday celebrations in honour of Elvis Presley - 'Artist of the Century' at Hamilton Place. He also had the opportunity to perform alongside legend 'Rock'n Ronny Hawkins and Canadian Country Star, Julian Austin.
Constantly on the move to reinventing himself, and wowing fans, Donny tripled his acts, bringing 'Rock 'n Roll' Icon Ricky Nelson to life. He continues to perform across North America in a variety of venues, including casinos, state fairs, festivals, charities, theatres, corporate and private functions. Expanding his talents further he created and performed as a gold or silver human statue in casinos across the country.
His entertaining style brings the energy and mystery that surrounds the unique personality of each character as they would appear on stage. His experience brings the refinement needed for a world rank impersonator.
From the 'King of Country' Garth Brooks, 'Honky Tonk Hunk' Alan Jackson, 'Rock 'n Roll Legend' Ricky Nelson, to the unbelievable transformation of a human statue, Don's versatility is endless. What's in store for Don next? You'll have to stick around to find out....
UPDATE: Always looking for a fresh way to entertain his audiences, Donny came up with the idea of using music and laughter to create The Sexy Ole Dawgs. His long time colleague and friend, VJ Hanson is the funny guy, while Donny remains the straight guy (sort of). They play a number of musical genres, and have a great time engaging with their audience.
Interesting stories usually surround Donny's transformations. This time, an agent sent Donny a pic of John Fogerty...."Hey Don, you ever think about playing this guy?" "Wow", he looks just like me, or I look just like him!" With a bit of wardrobe change, and a lot of hard work and dedication to hone his craft, Donny immersed himself in the story and music of John Fogerty. Playing lead, and telling the story of Fogerty, from the beginning of his career, into the CCR days, and now, his comeback and astounding solo career, Donny remains in character throughout, even promoting John's new book, Fortunate Son. His complete package and stage presence, redefines CCR tributes; he takes it to a new level, having audiences leave wondering who they really saw on stage.
The worst day in entertainment is more AMAZING than the absolute best day in the real world!"
